American primaries: Clinton held off Sanders in the Democratic caucus in Nevada. The former US Secretary of State got 52.7% of the votes versus 47.2% for the Vermont Senator. On the Republican side, Donald Trump won South Carolina with 32.5% of the votes, thus sustaining his position as the front-runner for the Republican presidential nomination.
28 people were killed and 61 hurt after ‘terror attack’ in Ankara. On Wednesday the 17th a car bomb hit a military convoy in Ankara. The Turkish security blamed Kurdish militants.
UK’s political debate this week was focused on the EU referendum. In fact, a vote on the UK’s membership of the European Union will be held on 23 June, as announced by Prime Minister David Cameron.
The Death of Antonin Scalia on February 13th provoked a great amount of debate this week, and his absence leaves the US court balanced between its conservative and liberal wings. Obama promised to nominate a successor soon and his choice will tilt the balance in one way or another for many years.
